Russia's Sistema Eyes Majority Stake in India's Shyam Telelink

The Economic Times of India reported that Russian conglomerate Sistema acquired on September 26 an extra stake of 10% in Indian telecom operator Shyam Telelink and expects to eventually control a majority stake of 51% in the latter company. Shyam Telelink currently operates CDMA-based mobile services in Rajasthan and boasts a subscriber base of over 270,000.
